Developing Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs with Providers as Partners
Contributors to the third edition of NAFSA’s Guide to Successful Short-Term Programs Abroad present insights on evolving relationships among education abroad administrators, faculty, and providers. This session examines these complex relationships, including approaches to working with providers, selection criteria, and healthy partnerships from a provider perspective.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify criteria on which to base institutional decisions about whether or not to use a provider for a short-term program, which one to choose, and what role it will play in program development.
- Take advantage of opportunities during the program development process to begin collaborating with a provider;
- Better understand the provider perspective of working with higher education institutions: What does the provider expect from administrators of short-term programming and from faculty leaders?
